HOUSE SYSTEM
At FIS, we’ve spiced up the school experience by sorting students into one of four unique ‘Houses,’ and this association remains intact throughout their journey with us. Throughout the year, FIS hosts a whirlwind of lively activities and friendly competitions where students go head-to-head, vying for coveted ‘House Points.’
Why, you ask? Well, this spirited system offers a multitude of benefits to our school community:
- Rewarding Effort: We firmly believe in recognizing and rewarding the hard work and dedication of our students here at FIS. It’s all about celebrating those who give it their all.
- Sense of Belonging: Being part of a House creates an unbreakable bond and a true sense of belonging and community. Students find support in their fellow ‘Housemates’ as they navigate their academic journey together.
- Opportunity for Heroics: Our House system provides every student the chance to shine and become a hero in all facets of school life. From school-wide activities to everyday achievements, each student can contribute to their House’s success, which brings a sense of accomplishment.
- Cultivating Curiosity and Creativity: We’re all about promoting curiosity and nurturing creativity. Through a range of activities and various roles within their Houses, students can explore new horizons and express themselves.
- Adventure Awaits: Adventure is in the air! With the opportunity to contribute to their House, students often step out of their comfort zones, trying new things and competing in areas they might not have considered before. This not only promotes confidence but also a sense of daring.
- Leadership and Responsibility: We emphasize leadership and responsibility, particularly for our older students who take on vital roles within their House. It’s a chance for them to lead, guide, and inspire their Housemates.
At FIS, we believe that learning goes beyond the classroom, and our House system is a vibrant testament to the lively, dynamic spirit that defines our school community.
BOARDING LIFE
Feza International School offers a secure and nurturing environment for your child’s growth and development. Our boarding facilities cater to students aged 14 to 21 (Year 8-13), with separate dormitories for boys and girls, each located in designated areas.
The success of our boarding program lies in our clear behavioral expectations, an extensive array of weekend activities, and the safe, supportive atmosphere we cultivate.
Our campus has the capacity to accommodate over 102 students, with comfortable rooms designed for six students each. These rooms feature amenities such as large windows, fans, and lockable wardrobes. Bedding and linen are provided and maintained by the school, ensuring students’ comfort year-round. Laundry facilities are readily available, allowing students to learn personal responsibility and contribute to house upkeep.
Dedicated staff members, numbering more than seven, offer supervision and support throughout students’ stay in the dormitory. Additionally, our staff members reside on-site, ensuring a high level of care and supervision. Students enjoy access to student common rooms equipped with satellite TV and recreational activities.
Students are paired with staff mentors who oversees their academic and personal well-being, ensuring a confidential and supportive student-mentor relationship. Small mentor groups meet regularly for guidance, inspiration, and monitoring of social, personal, and academic progress.
Boarding students benefit from supervised access to the swimming pool, indoor sports arena, ICT labs, libraries, and other facilities outside school hours and on weekends. During the week, students are encouraged to manage their time effectively, with compulsory homework or prep sessions scheduled every evening (Sunday-Thursday from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM, Friday from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM) and on weekends. These sessions take place in designated prep rooms with supervision.
Weekends offer a wide range of activities, including sports tournaments, cinema outings, and theater visits. To ensure students’ safety, leaving the campus is strictly prohibited unless it’s for organized school activities or with proper permission, closely coordinated with parents/guardians. Our robust security measures include vigilant gatekeepers, security lighting, alarm systems connected to external security companies, and smoke detectors within the boarding complex.
We take pride in providing excellent meals, and student input is regularly sought when planning the menu. You can view our current school menu on our website.
Our on-site infirmary ensures that a qualified nurse is available during afternoon hours, with a standby car for nighttime emergencies. The school also boasts its own borehole for water needs and a large generator to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
At Feza International School, we prioritize the well-being, safety, and holistic development of our boarding students, creating an environment where they can thrive academically and personally.
